My
Best Dog
by Aaron Jensen
Here
is a story of how bad a dog can want to go hoggen. I have this dog named Max.
This is a bad to the bone dog. Here is a little history of him. He is the look
of a Leopard Cur but he weighs 135 pounds. He is mixed with somethin else to
make him that big I not sure what though. He has one light blue eye and the
other is black. This one time I just had leashed him
up and was bring him back to the truck after catching a 200 pound hog when this
walker dog came up and started nipping him in the heels. So Max turned around
and with one bite, crunch that walker dog's skull. The walker dog rolled over
dead and started twitching. That's how big and strong this dog is. Well any
way this one time I was out with a few of my friends, and we had been tracking
this hog for about 3 hours and then finally the hounds got him bayed up. Then
I sent in Max, figured no sweat. He went in and this hog didn't have curled
up tusk. They pointed straight out 4 inches. This hog had been chased so many
time and fought so many times that it had no ears left or a tail. There was
nothing left for Max to grab onto. So when he tried to grab him by the neck
that 350 pound boar turned his head and slit Max from shoulder to his back leg.
I still got a chance to shoot the hog. So I took Max and put a leather strap
in his mouth and laid him on the back of the truck. I poured some Jack Daniels
in the cut and stapled him shut and threw him in the back of the truck. The
next day he was ready to go get some more hog. I have no clue what drives this
dog but he has been the best dog I have ever owned. The best part is I never
trained him and he is a mix breed.
