Hello Mate,
Thanks so much for taking the time to write me from the other
side of the world.. Do they make hog hunting videos over here in the states
and are there any bay contest videos? Well, to answer your question, Yes, there
are some hunters who guide hunts that make videos over here in the states. The
problem is, even tho they are pretty much realistic on how the hunting is done
over here, they arent promoted and you pretty much have to know how to find
them. My problem is in answering your question is weither or not to give you
the mans name as to where to get them. In the past I have printed his name and
how to get hold of him for other hog hunters benefit, but today, the animal
activist are so caniving that they read this same response as you do and buy
the videos and use them as amunition against us. Hog hunting with dogs goes
back hundreds of years and is a part of life with us, especially down in the
southern United States, its part of our heritage, part of our up bringing, part
of our privledge in living in a free country. But there are people that will
file charges on a person for putting out fire ant killer, buying poor cattle
that are out of grass from someone and fattning them up to resale them, for
fattning up and butchering your own steer for food, for wearing shoes-clothing-belts
that are made of leather, they have even gone as far as trying to get bills
passed before our legislature to where fishing is banned. I have always had
a collection of videos both the ones I've made and the ones I've bought. I teach
school and over the years, one of the big thrills of the kids is seeing my hog
hunting videos for a reward for doing this or that in class. Ive done this for
I dont know how many years, and never once have had a complaint, about the only
complait I ever heard was not having enough..haha But this past year, I finally
got called down for them, and the thing was, it wasnt from the kids or their
parents, it was from a substitute adult who was watching the next class. So
I guess I wont show them anymore. So to answer your question, my suggestion
would be to simply make friends with someother hog hunter over here in the states
on a personal basis, and see if they could help you. The same basically goes
for the baying contest. However, you might be able to click on Bayed Solids
website here on baydog, and write Jimmy and Sharon and ask them if they are
selling videos filmed at the famous "Uncle Earls" baying contest over in Louisiana.
Good luck huntin', Jim
